Shimmer Polish - Swatches Part I

Good Afternoon lovely followers!
I say this quite often, but I'm super excited for today's post.

Today I have swatches of Shimmer Polish, a brand of indie polishes! I was so excited when Cindy asked me if I wanted to try some polishes. Little did I know she was going to send me fourteen polishes. You should have seen me opening the package!

That said, this is actually part one of a two part series. Today is the first seven polishes.

Let me start by showing all of them. So gorgeous!

Now onto the swatches!
First up is Bella - a gorgeous dark red, orange and brown glitter. This polish is the definition of Autumn. This polish was great in terms of application. Shown below is three coats on it's own plus topcoat.

As you can see below, all of the glitters in this polish are the same size.

Like almost all the polishes sent to me, this polish has a holographic element to it. Even though it's not visible in the picture, there are little pieces of holo glitter. **EDIT: I did have videos of each polish but I have since taken these off since the quality was so terrible. :/

Second up is Jennifer - a beautiful clear polish with purple, teal and gold glitter. As you can see, the size of the glitter in this polish ranges. This polish was the only one that wasn't holographic. Not to say that it isn't beautiful though!

Again, very nice application. In this swatch I used two coats over NYC Tudor City Teal, plus top coat. I like this color combination. Oh and obviously I did a glitter gradient on my ring finger.

Next is Jovie - a beautiful pink opal glitter polish.
Again, the size of the glitter in this polish ranges. This polish isn't holographic per say but it is opal-esque. (I don't think that's a word)

For this swatch I used 3 coats over NYC Prospect Park Bloom, plus top coat. Again, amazing application.

Next is Nichole - a gorgeous red, silver and blue glitter polish with holographic pieces.
The swatch below shows just two coats over a white polish, plus top coat. Very dense glitter! Love it!

Next is Kim - A beautiful purple and blue glitter polish. For this swatch I used just two coats over Sinful Colors Candy Coated, plus topcoat. Another dense glitter! Oh and a glitter gradient on my ring finger.

Next is Jacki - a Violet, Navy & Maroon glitter polish. To me, this polish is like a galaxy in a bottle. Hence the galaxy accent nail.

For this swatch I used just two coats over Avon Midnight Plum plus topcoat. Great application.

Last, but not least, is Mary - a beautiful red polish with Red, Silver and Black glitter. For this swatch I used three coats on it's own plus topcoat.

Once again, great application. This polish is crazy holographic, as you can see below. It's like a rainbow in a bottle.

That's it for today's post! I can't wait to show you all the second half of these gorgeous polishes. This was my first try at really swatching. To be honest it was a lot of work, but I'm proud of what I've come up with. These polishes were all great to work with. I didn't have to "fish" for any of the glitter at all.

If you'd like to order polishes from Cindy, her shop is here. You can also give her a like on Facebook here.
Each polish sells for $12. Oh and she also makes custom polishes!

Until next time,

  2. I really like the polishes. I think they are gorgeous but 12 dollars for a nail polish is insane. Even if its a glitter. Maybe when I start making money i can buy those. For now it is straight drugstore.
