Born Pretty Striping Tape Review

Hello everyone! I have another Born Pretty review for you!

I was sent Striping Tape to try out, so without further ado, I present you my review.

Starting with the specifics, I tried color #10 which is white. All of the colors are really nice. The white can go with pretty much anything. I also think the gold looks really elegant (even though I haven’t tried it) Each color is $1.90 or $8.90 for all 12 colors.

Here's what the roll looks like.
I had never used striping tape prior to this so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew that I wanted to show a manicure using the tape in it and one using it to make lines (if that makes any sense…)

My first manicure uses the tape to create lines. Color blocking is really “in”  right now - not only clothes but manicures too! I really like the mix match patterns I was able to create. I just placed the tape in random lines and painted inside with acrylic paint (polish works too!)

Here's a picture of during the process.
After I painted, I peeled up the tape and most of the lines were clean and looked good. I know for a fact that I wouldn’t be able to create this look without the help of the striping tape.

In my second manicure, I used the tape as stripes on my nail - even easier than the first manicure! I’m not sure how experienced striping tape users do it, but I just placed the end of the tape roll on my nail and cut off the excess tape with scissors. Honestly, it’s kind of difficult to do. The tape doesn’t always end up the same length, hence my middle finger looking a bit off… Another downfall of the tape is the fact that it doesn’t stay down very well. Even with a layer of topcoat, the tape started to peel up. This peeling up issue wasn’t too bad with my middle and pinky fingers but on my thumb that isn’t shown I did short pieces of tape - this started to peel up really fast.

Overall, I am undecided about this. If you know how to use striping tape, this is perfect for you. Reasonably priced and good quality. I also think it’s good for a beginner who wants to learn. I think once you get used to it, the easier and faster it will be. There’s an infinite number of possibilities you can create with the tape.
